Alex Miadelets is the Vice President of Energy & Power Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Miadelets has over 5 years of investment banking experience, working on corporate and asset M&A, equity and debt financing transactions. Mr. Miadelets covers mid and large cap power utilities, independent power producers and a number of companies in the clean technology sector. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Miadelets covered energy and technology companies at PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG in Calgary and Moscow.
Anthony E. Orr, Esq. works as General Counsel for REpower USA Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of German wind energy turbine manufacturer - REpower Systems AG. Prior to joining REpower USA Corp., he served as Senior Counsel for wind turbine manufacturing, sales, construction and services at wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa Technology in Philadelphia. Mr. Orr is an honors graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
Christopher Radtke is a Vice President in Credit Suisse’s Global Energy group in New York with a focus on advising power and renewables companies on M&A and financings. He has worked on more than $30 billion of announced transactions with notable recent examples being Invenergy Wind’s capital raise, NRG Energy’s defense against Exelon’s unsolicited offer, and MEMC’s acquisition of SunEdison.
Craig Glazer serves as the Vice President of Federal Government Policy for PJM Interconnection. Mr. Glazer coordinates all of PJM’s regulatory and legislative policies before Congress, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commissions, the United States Department of Energy and other federal agencies. PJM operates the largest competitive wholesale electricity market in the world and serves over 9% of the United States population. Mr. Glazer heads PJM’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to PJM, Mr. Glazer served as Commissioner and Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. As its longest-serving Chairman, he oversaw the state’s move toward deregulation of its telephone, natural gas, transportation and electric industries. Mr. Glazer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Vanderbilt University School of Law.
Craig Isakow recently started working with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. He focuses on commercialization and deployment, and currently works on the DOE Recovery Team. He is working to increase the rate and scale of energy efficiency and renewable energy technology market penetration by leveraging stimulus funding. In addition, Mr. Isakow is the founder of www.constructivebuilding.com and www.allgreenratings.com, websites that offer extensive information on green building products and promote the rapid adoption of green building materials and practices. Mr. Isakow graduated with an M.B.A. from the Wharton School in 2008. While at Wharton, Mr. Isakow was Co-President of the Wharton Energy Club.
Mr. McDonald has more than 30 years of experience with utilities, energy companies and governmental agencies developing, implement-ing, and evaluating Clean Energy strategies, policies and programs. He has worked with more than 30 utilities on developing their energy efficiency and distributed generation programs including design, marketing, and evaluation. In addition, Mr. McDonald has worked with a number of Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) on developing and marketing energy service products.
Damali Rhett is a manager in the Energy & Resources practice at Deloitte Consulting. At Deloitte, she has worked for numerous energy clients including Constellation Energy, the Department of Energy and the Suncor/PetroCanada merger, specializing in Finance Strategy and Post Merger Integrations. She recently completed an analysis of the nuclear energy industry and is currently working on a whitepaper related to Smart Grid. Damali is a member of Young Professionals in Energy as well as the Women’s Council on Energy & the Environment. She graduated from the Tuck School of Business in 2006.
Dan Dobbs, Director of Commercial Finance, SunEdison is responsible for developing energy pricing for Power Purchase Agreements. Mr. Dobbs works closely with Sales, Engineering, Construction, and Project Finance to identify, evaluate, propose, and develop new projects. He also provides economic analysis to support Government Affairs’ market development activities and he assists the Research and Development group’s new technology analyses. Mr. Dobbs joined SunEdison in 2006. Prior to SunEdison, he was the New Business Opportunities Manager for the MSG pressure sensor line in Texas Instruments’ Sensors and Controls Division (now Sensata Technologies).
David Blumenfeld is Founder and President of Urban Eco Electric, a residential solar leasing company in Philadelphia. Mr. Blumenfeld is a real estate investor with 20+ years of experience in residential, office and retail properties. Mr. Blumenfeld has a wide range of permitting, financing, and construction experience including single-family developments, new construction, historic renovations using federal tax credits, and HUD 221(d)(4) projects in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware totaling over 1,500 residential units. Mr. Blumenfeld was recently certified as a Solar Installer under Pennsylvania licensing requirements and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association and the Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network.
David Leeds is an Analyst at Greentech Media, focusing on the emerging Smart Grid sector. Prior to joining Greentech Media, Mr. Leeds worked as an Analyst at Babson Capital/MassMutual in the Global Capital Markets Group. An avid world-traveler, Mr. Leeds has come into contact with many of our most pressing environmental and social challenges. His research, focused on the convergence of IT, telecom and energy networks, leads him to believe that a smarter future is possible if we can reinvent our collective relationship with energy.
David Sexton is currently Vice President of Business Development for Sunoco, located in Philadelphia. Before joining the company in early 2009, Mr. Sexton spent 30 years working for Royal Dutch Shell in a variety of positions ranging from Vice-President of Portfolio Americas and Vice-President of Strategy and Portfolio for Shell Oil Products US to Manager of Investor Relations. Mr. Sexton is a graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelors of Business Administration, a graduate of University of Houston with an MBA and a graduate of South Texas College of Law with a JD.
Dr. William M. Ferretti is a Vice President at Chicago Climate Exchange, the world's first and North America's only active, voluntary, legally binding integrated trading system to reduce emissions of all six greenhouse gases. Before joining CCX, Dr. Ferretti was the Executive Director of GLOBE USA, a nonpartisan membership organization comprised of environmentally minded senators and representatives from the U.S. Congress. During his tenure at GLOBE, he led a series of U.S. and international initiatives aimed at advancing the Congressional debate over climate change policy and engaging members of Congress with their peers from parliaments around the globe in dialogue about this critical issue. Prior to joining GLOBE USA, Dr. Ferretti was Executive Director of the National Recycling Coalition, the nation’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of recycling. From 1988 to 1996 he served with the New York State Department of Economic Development, where he was founding director of the nation’s first market development program for recycling. For their groundbreaking work, Dr. Ferretti and the Department received one of the first Presidential Awards for Sustainable Development. Dr. Ferretti received his doctorate in resource economics from the State University of New York and Syracuse University, and a bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
Eyrique Miller recently joined J.P.Morgan as a Vice President in Investment Banking, covering chemicals and alternative energy. Prior to assuming this role, Eyrique was a White House Fellow under President Bush and President Obama. As Fellow, Eyrique worked at the White House Council on Environmental Quality on energy and climate change policy and green job creation. Before becoming a Fellow, Eyrique worked as an investment banker at Citi. Eyrique has an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School, as wells as an M.S.E. in Telecommunications and Networking from the University of Pennsylvania and B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University.
Jeff Bladen leads GAMESA Energy USA’s wind farm strategy and market intelligence work. His responsibilities cover the gamut of the business from strategic planning to heading the GEUSA investment committee and advising project development and sales efforts. Prior to Joining GAMESA, Mr. Bladen was responsible for all long term strategic planning for the PJM regional transmission operator’s electricity and related markets. Mr. Bladen was one of the original employees that built a start-up energy business of Constellation NewEnergy (Formerly New Energy Ventures) into the most successful competitive retail electricity business in North America.
John Curtis founded Green Energy Capital Partners (“GECP”), a utility scale renewable energy development firm in April 2007. GECP is currently involved in the advanced development of PA SOLAR PARK, a grid-connected, photovoltaic solar power plant located in Nesquehoning, PA and scheduled to be completed in 2010. PA SOLAR PARK will provide enough clean energy to power 1,500 Pennsylvania homes annually and provide a 30 year carbon-offset, equivalent to planting 25,000 acres of trees. In addition to renewable energy development, Mr. Curtis is launching www.GreenEnergyIncubator.com, a clean technology funding firm and www.GreenEnergyFoundation.org, an education, policy and training organization to advance global sustainability
Ken Ogawa has over 20 years experience leading facilities management, engineering, environmental, and construction organizations supporting a diverse mixture facilities. Mr. Ogawa is currently the Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance for the University of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he leads an 800 person workforce, executing an annual operating and utilities budget of $155 million, providing housekeeping services, grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, and utilities for over 13 million square feet of academic, research, residential, and retail spaces as well as over 60 acres of urban landscape.
Ishaan Kapoor is a Portfolio Manager at Power Team, Exelon’s wholesale energy trading division. In his current role, Mr. Kapoor develops trading strategies around Power, Natural Gas and Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to manage cash flows from one of the largest merchant power portfolios in the country. Prior to this Mr. Kapoor was part of the structuring desk at Exelon, working on energy transactions and valuation of power plants, including the development of the country’s largest urban solar facility in Chicago. Mr. Kapoor has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Houston.
Matthew Mendis is Managing Director and Founder at C-Quest Capital. Matthew S. Mendis has over 27 years of experience in development, financing and implementation of alternative energy and energy efficiency projects. Over the span of his career he advised and assisted a wide range of international donor agencies, governments and private companies in financially engineering clean energy investments amounting to over $500 million. Prior to co-founding C-Quest Capital, Mr. Mendis was Corporate Vice President of International Resources Group, Ltd. (IRG) and Director of its Energy and Environmental Management Division. Mr. Mendis currently serves as Chairman and Trustee for Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP) International. He received his B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and an M.A. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Maryland.
Don Bain is an engineer, executive, entrepreneur and early-stage investor active in the Philadelphia region. As a consulting partner at Ernst & Young, he advised Fortune 500 CEOs, CFOs and CIOs on supply chain and enterprise systems. He has led several technology and professional services companies in the U.S. and Europe, and was a board member at Robin Hood Ventures. Mr. Bain graduated from Stanford University as an electrical engineer and completed The Management Program at Rice University. He is a licensed professional engineer. Mr. Bain ""upgraded"" his skills with the Greenhouse Gas Institute (www.ghginstitute.org) to include rigorous greenhouse gas accounting and management methods, in order to better lead companies into a profitable, sustainable and carbon-managed future.
Pamela Hill has extensive experience developing, structuring, marketing and financing electric utility projects and products in domestic and international environments. She holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. in Sociology from Dartmouth College.
Mr. Garcia-Hrdy’s responsibilities with several renewable energy firms have ranged from preliminary and final civil and electrical engineering design to wind farm construction. At Tetra Tech, Mr. Garcia-Hrdy had expanded his focus to include solar PV projects in the US and internationally. He participated in several exploratory projects in Latin America evaluating the feasibility of renewable development there. Previously, Mr. Garcia-Hrdy worked at Iberdrola where he negotiated and supervised BOP design projects ranging from conceptual engineering to detail design for 4 wind farms in the US. His responsibilities also included performing wind and solar PV energy engineering with revenue totaling over $10m during 2007.
Peter W. Bressler, Principal, Bresslergroup, Inc. is the leader of the Integrated Product Development trust. The group is known for its successful user centered product design solutions in a wide range of markets including industrial, commercial, and medical, electronics, and consumer products. Mr. Bressler focuses on strategic business planning and entrepreneurial programs. Mr. Bressler is the founder of and serves as Board Chairman of Solar Roofing Systems, Inc. (“SRS Energy”). The firm is a “start-up” developing and commercializing Building Integrated Photovoltaic Roofing Products. Since 2006 Mr. Bressler has been an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Integrated Product Design Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ravi Jain has a M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Michigan. He worked for more than 20 years with The BOC Group where he was a Section Director and the Technology Fellow. He invented and commercialized more than 25 technologies in the industrial gases area at The BOC Group.
Bob Frick is a 23-year veteran of the General Electric Company. His entire GE career has been focused on the energy industry, the technologies underpinning it, and the products driving it. He worked on designing naval nuclear reactors for propulsion, then on space-based power systems and later managed engineering training programs and led development of enabling technologies using partnering relationships. He then moved to commercial operations, supporting fossil equipment sales worldwide. After 8 years in HQ commercial roles, Mr. Frick became a field-based sales manager, selling aftermarket services to the generation industry. Presently, Mr. Frick works on the sales side with utilities, independent power producers, and developers on fossil and wind projects.
Terry Nicol has been working in the renewable energy field for the last five years. He spent the first four of those years developing wind farms in Pennsylvania, New York and New England, including the 150 MW Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm in western Pennsylvania. Mr. Nicol is currently working at Tetra Tech as a consultant for other wind developers. The focus of his work at Tetra Tech has been the 300 MW Hardin Wind Farm in western Ohio, the first wind farm to submit an application to the Ohio Power Siting Board under its new regulations.
